Environmental policy

Norrenergi´s activity, which consists of providing district heating and cooling to the customers, contributes to improving the environment. Although natural resources are consumed, district heating as well as district cooling have many positive effects on the environment. Norrenergi wants to use these natural resources as carefully as possible and at the same time actively work towards a decrease in influence on the environment.

Environmental issues have many different aspects. These are both local and global and concern health and work environment as well as nature and urban landscape. Because of this, it is important to maintain a holistic perspective when it comes to environmental issues. This type of view can help to ensure that efforts are made where they are needed the most.

Norrenergi commits to maintain an environmental management system, which includes production, distribution and selling of energy as well as storage of biofuel.

Norrenergi shall:

  • Protect the health and safety of human beings
  • Decrease the usage of finite and slowly renewable natural resources
  • Prevent pollutants and decrease the spreading of compounds, that do not occur naturally in the nature
  • Obtain effective energy solutions within its own activities as well as for the customer
  • Implement reuse and recycle when possible
  • Comply with applicable legislation, regulations and other demands
  • Educate, inform and stimulate their employees to commitment, involvement and responsibility in regard to environmental issues
  • Consider environmental aspects in all purchases of goods and services
  • Facilitate continual improvements through preparing and continuously improving the environmental programme and goals
